Jiaxian Zhou is an active pianist and has performed in various halls around the United States and China, including her solo debut at the Carnegie Hall in 2020. She is an international competition laureate and has attended solo and chamber masterclass performances with Vladimir Feltsman, Fabio Bidini, Renana Gutman, Lowell Libermann, and members of the Formosa Quartet, Modigliani Quartet, and Elias String Quartet.
With her fruitful experiences, Jiaxian enjoys sharing musical knowledge with the younger generation and nurtures their musical interest through critical and independent thinking skills. In the hope to change people’s lives with music, she has recently formed a duo that visits various communities around the Houston area to share music with people of all ages and color.
Jiaxian earned her bachelor’s with highest honors in China and continued to pursue her Master’s in Piano Performance at the Mannes School of Music under the tutelage of Yuri Kim. With a strong passion for chamber music, Jiaxian also completed her second Master’s in Collaborative Piano at the University of Houston. Jiaxian is currently pursuing her doctorate studies in collaborative piano, studying with Professor Timothy Hester.
