David Hyder, a Texas native, started learning the cello at the age of eleven. Largely self taught, he would begin taking lessons at the age of seventeen eventually leading him to study with his primary teacher Brant Taylor of the Chicago Symphony.
David is an experienced teacher teaching students from young children to amateur adults. Having studied cello pedagogy while attending DePaul University, David has a real passion for teaching and showing his students that the cello is accessible to anyone that shows interest.
David has performed with the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, and has also attended summer festivals such as Roundtop Festival and Meadowmount School of music where he studied with Hans Jensen.
