Yuelu Cui is a solo pianist, collaborative pianist, and dedicated music educator committed to inspiring students through artistic excellence, thoughtful instruction, and a lifelong love of music. She is currently completing the final stage of her Doctor of Arts degree in Piano Performance, with a cognate in Collaborative Piano, at the University of Northern Colorado and is expected to receive her degree in October 2026.
Ms. Cui began studying piano at an early age. She earned her Bachelor of Music from South China Normal University before continuing her graduate studies in the United States. She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso under the guidance of Dr. Oscar Macchioni and has pursued advanced studies in piano performance, collaborative piano, chamber music, and coaching with Dr. Lei Weng at the University of Northern Colorado.
As both a solo and collaborative pianist, Ms. Cui has performed extensively throughout the United States and internationally in Italy, the United Kingdom, and France. Her collaborative work includes vocal, instrumental, chamber music, opera, studio teaching, masterclasses, juries, and recital performances. She has served as a Graduate Assistant in Collaborative Piano at the University of Northern Colorado, where she collaborated closely with faculty and students in lessons, rehearsals, performances, and opera productions. These experiences have strengthened her versatility, musicianship, and passion for artistic collaboration.
Teaching is at the heart of Ms. Cui’s musical career. She has taught students of all ages and levels through private instruction, university teaching assistantships, and international music festivals. As a piano instructor and collaborative piano coach at the Colorado International Piano Academy & amp; Festival, she has coached young pianists in lessons, masterclasses, and concerto workshops while helping students develop technical proficiency, musical expression, collaborative skills, and confidence in performance. She believes that every student possesses unique musical potential and strives to create a supportive, encouraging, and joyful learning environment where students can grow both artistically and personally.
Ms. Cui is also an active church pianist and collaborative musician, regularly serving worship services, choir rehearsals, and special events. She considers it a privilege to use music as a means of encouragement, worship, and service. Whether teaching beginning students or preparing advanced musicians for performance, she is passionate about helping every student discover the joy, beauty, and lifelong value of music.
