Hailing from Houston, Texas, baritone Keaton Brown has performed a variety of roles, spanning from the baroque era to golden age classics. Keaton taught for Vivo in the summer of 2022, and he is thrilled to be returning this Fall. He loves teaching students of all ages and levels and is comfortable teaching all genres of music. This summer Keaton has been at Seagle Festival, performing the role of Frederick Egermann in A Little Night Music as well as covering Mercutio in Romeo et Juliette. In May 2023, Keaton received his Master of Music from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. He performed the roles of Masetto in Don Giovanni, Harry Easter in Street Scene, and Soldato II in L’incoronazione di Poppea. Keaton has performed with many distinguished programs, such as Seagle Festival, Festival Napa Valley and LAH-SOW workshop. Other notable roles Keaton has performed include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Orphemon in L’amant Anonyme, Buff in The Impresario, Frank in Die Fledermaus, and Matt in The Fantasticks. An avid recitalist, Keaton has enjoyed performing many important works in the German and French repertoire, such as Dichterlibe, Vier Ernste Gesänge, Chansons Madecasses, and Chansons Gaillardes. Keaton received his Bachelor of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and his Master of Music from Rice University. He studies under the tutelage of Nova Thomas.
