Herlane Franciele is a Brazilian cellist, educator, and performing artist currently based in Houston, Texas. A native of Recife, Brazil, she began her musical journey through a distinguished social initiative that brought classical music education to underserved communities. This formative experience continues to inspire her commitment to accessibility and artistic excellence.
Herlane holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from the Federal University of Pernambuco and a Master of Music in Cello Performance from the University of New Mexico, where she studied under Dr. Christopher Wagner. Since 2012, she has performed professionally in a wide range of settings, including orchestral, chamber, and solo engagements. Her performance credits include collaborations with the New Mexico Philharmonic and numerous chamber ensembles in both Brazil and the United States.
An experienced and passionate teacher, Herlane works with students of all ages and skill levels. Her teaching philosophy centers on nurturing each student’s unique musical voice while developing a solid technical foundation. She emphasizes a supportive, student-centered learning environment that fosters confidence, musical expression, and long-term growth. Whether guiding beginners or preparing advanced students for auditions and competitions, Herlane is dedicated to helping each musician reach their fullest potential.
Now residing in Houston, Herlane is actively engaged in the local musical community and is welcoming new students into her private studio. She continues to perform regularly at private events and outreach concerts, sharing the joy of music with audiences of all backgrounds.
