Charbel Yubaile Kalixto was born in Veracruz, Mexico. He began his studies in the Veracruz Institute of Education and Culture. He completed his undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at the University of Zacatecas, Mexico. During 2016/17 and the spring semester of 2014 he worked as collaborative pianist and piano professor at the University of Nayarit, Mexico. In May of 2016, he was awarded a Masters degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Oklahoma State University. He has taught piano to K-12 students in Mexico and the Houston area. Currently, he is pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Houston, majoring in Collaborative Piano. An avid collaborator, he has been a member of many chamber groups, including the AURA contemporary ensemble.
He has given recitals in many of Mexico’s most important theaters, museums, and music halls. Has also performed in the “School of Musical Arts” at the University of Costa Rica, Oklahoma State University Seretean Concert Hall, Edmon Low Library in Stillwater, Oklahoma; Dudley Concert Hall and Moores Opera House in Houston, “Evens Concert Hall” in Sde Boker, Israel; “Freskensaal” at the Laudon Palace in Vienna and Kurhaus Pavillon in Bad Aussee, Austria. He took part in Aguascalientes Chamber Music Festival 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. Participated in the “Fifth Maria Clara Cullell International Piano Competition 2008” in San Jose, Costa Rica and “ Tel Hai International Piano Masterclasses 2009 and 2010” in Midreshet Sde Boker, Israel taking part in the Chamber Music Workshop of Ron Selka, Principal Clarinet Player of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Got an AIE Scholarship as an active participant in the 14th International Masterclass and Piano Festival in Granada, Spain. Received masterclasses from Roland Batik (Austria) in the Vienna Meisterkurse 2011. On May 2012, played a piano recital as the opening concert of Ambato City International Music Festival in Ecuador. Together with the Zacatecas University Youth Symphony, performed at the Slovak Radio Concert Hall in Bratislava during the 5º International Youth Music Festival 2013.
